TRIGGER TENSION METER
THIS INSTRUMENT HAS BEEN CALIBRATED AND IS READY FOR USE. DO NOT MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENT. The accuracy of the instrument is not affected when the needle rests within 5° on either side of "0".
THE TRIGGER TENSION METER IS A DELICATE INSTRUMENT. MISUSE, EVEN ONCE, MAY REQUIRE A METER REPAIR.
1. Read the instruction card attached inside the meter box.
2. Always use the trigger when inserting or removing the meter from your material. Cock the trigger gently. Do not force the material through the pulleys.
DO NOT JERK OR PULL THE METER AWAY FROM YOUR MATERIAL
BECAUSE THIS ACTION MAY BREAK THE CALIBRATING SPRING AND DAMAGE THE METER.
3. The material must be in the grooves of the V-pulleys. If the material is tested out of position, the readings will be incorrect and grooves will develop in the trigger. If the meter has cylindrical rollers, keep the material close to the faceplate.
4. Do not bang the instrument. Any hard knock will bend the internal rack teeth.
5. Prevent, as much as possible, grease or liquids from penetrating the meter.
6. Do not operate on materials having tensions above the scale of the meter.
This will damage the gear train and pivots.
7. If the pointer is slightly off the "0", the accuracy of the instrument is not affected.
The meters are not designed to be used in the extreme high or low range, and
there is a 10 degree dead zone + or - 5 degrees on either side of the "0".
